The first ever and biggest exhibition of Mary Willumsen's work was held 33 years after her death...

On October 4, 1994 the New Carsberg Glyptotek opened the first-ever museum exhibition celebrating Mary Willumsen's photography. Although it was too late for Mary Willumsen (1884-1961) herself to enjoy, her 80 year old son, Svend Børge Larsen was happy to get the chance to share in her honor. The Glyptotek had 35,000 visitors during the period her work was on display and extensive newspaper coverage opened the eyes of a new public to her images, more than 75 years after she originally took the photos!

A very limited number of posters helped promote the exhibition and originals are quite rare now. Northern Light Gallery has now recreated this beautiful work featuring a fantasy creation of a scene from the bathing area, Helgoland where she created her unique photographs. Now thanks to print-on-demand capabilities, you can receive this near-likeness to the original ready to frame for far less expense and difficulty than trying to locate an original. Of course, if you might prefer owning an original we have a very limited number vintage posters available in mint condition at a much different price.

You can order this nearly-exact reproduction here.
